Crackling Lake

I posted a photograph yesterday of some dead pine tress that I photographed at the Norris Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park. this photograph was taking shortly before that one and it is of an interesting geyser/lake called Crackling Lake. It gets it’s name because of the popping sounds from nearby springs on its southern shore. It was formally called Spring #39 until it was renamed in 1967.

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5DS using my Canon EF 16-35mm f/4 Lens set on 17mm. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f/16, shutter speed at 1/10th of a second and the ISO set at 100. I used a tripod for stability. This is a single image processed in Lightroom. I completed processing it in Photoshop with Nik Color Efex Pro.
