Artist’s Point View

If I were a painter I would certainly put Artist’s Point in Yellowstone National Park high on my list of places to visit and paint from. The view there is not only spectacular but also highly visited. Many families choose it as the perfect family vacation photo backdrop. It’s a short walk on a paved trail from the South Rim Drive.  I posted a photograph of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone last year which featured this same waterfall. This photograph is taken from the same vantage point but with a bit of a zoom. I highly recommend visiting Artists Point if you plan to visit the park.

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5DS using my Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 II Lens set on 241mm. I captured this image using my tripod for support. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f/5, shutter speed at 1/100th of a second and the ISO set at 100. This is a single image processed in Lightroom then finalized in Photoshop using Color Efex Pro.
