When I decided to get back in to photography I never imagined that I would be interested in photographing birds. That is, until I had a chance to go to Rockport, Texas to photograph birds in the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. This is where I photographed these fighting Egrets. We were near a rookery when these two Great Egrets began to spar. It was quite the experience. Photographing birds like this is quite tricky. I learned how to do so mostly through trial and error. Advice and reading helped but it was only when presented with the situation that I really understood what to do. I’ve been able to use this technique many times with great results.
