Chicago Skyline

I captured this photograph of the Chicago skyline during my recent holiday trip. I scouted this vantage point at the Bridge over South Pond of the Lincoln Park Zoo the day before and I showed up at the crack of dawn to photograph the scene. The sunrise was spectacular and I got lucky with the clouds.

The Lincoln Park Zoo is located just north of the downtown area. It was founded in 1868, making it one of the oldest zoos in the US. It is also one of the few free admission zoos in the country. The facility is home to a wide variety of animals including cats, polar bears, penguins, gorillas, reptiles, monkeys and other species totaling 1,100 animals from 200 species.

This image was taken with my Sony Alpha A7R II using my Sony 16-35mm f/4 Lens set on 35 mm. The camera was set on Aperture priority mode with the aperture set at f/11, shutter speed at 1/25th of a second and the ISO set at 100. I used a tripod for stability. This is a single image processed in Lightroom then completed in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.
