I made a trip to the Coral Gables, Florida area last year to attend a friend’s wedding. We took some time to go to the Fairchild Botanical Garden. I found the facility wonderful for photography, especially the flowers and insects. It was there that I captured this beautiful flower. I’m not sure what it is but I’m assuming it is a Hibiscus, a member of the Mallow family. If you know what it is please let me know.
These were my early days of macro photography. I decided to try a manual focus stack. I took a total of three photos and combined them into one using special software.
This image was taken with my Sony A7 II Digital Camera using my Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro Lens. I used a Metabones IV adapter to enable the use of Canon lenses on a Sony camera. The camera was set on Aperture priority mode with the aperture set at f/2.8, shutter speed at 1/400th of a second and the ISO set at 100. I captured three images at different focus points and brought them all together in Photoshop. I used Lightroom and Nik Color Efex Pro to finalize the image.
