Guitar Player

I mentioned earlier this year that I branched out to other photography areas in order to strengthen my skills. One of those areas was photographing Austin’s live music scene. I was specifically looking for a guitar player, one who stood out from the crowd. The first photograph I posted was of Sam Pace playing his Gibson SG guitar. Shortly after processing the images I sent Sam a small collection of photographs. Sam really liked the way I processed the photos as they matched his preferred photography style. He was looking for someone that could do this kind of work. Sam asked me to photograph his band and he asked me to assist him in creating the artwork for the posters and t-shirts for his upcoming summer tour. The photograph below is one of my favorites. It was taken in a studio using my portable studio kit. I had a great time photographing the band and post processing the images. Good luck to Sam

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5DS using my Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 Lens. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f/6.3, shutter speed at 1/60th of a second and the ISO set at 1250.This is a single image processed in Lightroom, Photoshop and Nik Silver Efex Pro. The exposure and look of the photograph was done to his specifications.
