This photograph was taken last week at McKinney Falls State Park. I mentioned yesterday that I was there to photograph Texas Wildflowers. Red Poppies were growing on a hillside along with a bunch of yellow flowers. Red Poppies are not native to Texas but they are beautiful flowers nonetheless. I normally only photograph Texas Wildflowers but the scene was so nice that I decided it would make a good photograph. The photograph looks more like a painting than a photograph, so, I used Topaz Impression to create an artistic rendition of the original photograph. I debated which one to use and I decided on the original photograph Vs. the impressionistic styled image.
This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5D Mark III using my Canon EF 180mm f/3.5 Macro Lens. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f/20, shutter speed at 1/640th of a second and the ISO set at 1600. No artificial lighting was used. This single image was processed in Lightroom.
OK, here is an exercise for those of you that purchased the SetMyCam iPhone application. What is the total depth of field for the above settings assuming that I was about 10 feet away from the flower on the left?
