Popular Sunset

This is the second image from my photo shoot back in January when I captured the sunset and the Pennybacker Bridge. What attracted me to this location was the silhouetted trees reflecting in the water.  I created a panorama photo from three photos in order to capture the entire scene. The clouds were more interesting than some of the other photos I have taken at this location.

This Pennybacker Bridge (aka 360 Bridge) connects the North and South sides of Austin. The cliff overlook is a perennial favorite for locals looking to practice their photography, or just enjoy a beautiful sunset. A quick five-minute hike from the road, the overlook provides stunning views of Lake Austin, Pennybraker Bridge, and the city of Austin skyline in the distance. The overlook is also a great place for a picnic or an early morning coffee. I often see couples using this location for their engagement photos.

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5DS using my Canon EF 16-35mm f/4 Lens set on 35 mm. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f/22, shutter speed at 1/25th of a second and the ISO set at 100. This is a 3-image panorama cropped down to a 3×2 format. I stitched the panorama in Lightroom and finished the processing in Photoshop.
