Acoustic

This is another photograph for my Austin Live Music project. This one was photographed about two weeks ago while looking for new venues and instruments to photograph. Although I have photographed mostly guitars, I did not have an acoustic guitar in my portfolio. This particular Ibanez guitar attracted me because of how the strings hung out over the neck of the guitar. Most players trim the strings after they put them on. This musician decided to leave them untrimmed and I thought they made for an interesting subject.

You would think that a brand like Ibanez would be a Spanish (as in from Spain) guitar brand. It actually was, until the Japanese company Hoshino Gakki (based in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan) purchased the company in 1933. The original brand name was Salvador Ibanez. There is a long list of famous (some grammy award-winning) artists that chose Ibanez guitars. You can access this list by clicking here.

This image was taken with my Sony A7R II using my Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro Lens. The camera was set on Aperture priority mode with the aperture set at f/2.8, shutter speed at 1/25th of a second and the ISO set at 6400. This was a single image processed in Lightroom and Nik Silver Efex Pro.
