Spotted

I have been trying to get a decent photograph of a Spotted Towhee for some time.  I kept seeing the bird but the lighting or their pose were never right. I finally got a decent shot during my last visit to the bird blind. I was even lucky enough to get a matching background. So, welcome this new bird to my collection.

An interesting fact about this bird is that males spend much of their mornings singing their hearts out and trying to attract a mate. It is estimated that they spend more than 75% of their morning singing. Their pattern changes once they attract a mate as their attention shifts to other things. They estimate that after that fact they only spend about 5 percent of their time singing. Sounds a lot like human relationships… :)
