Wedding Venue

I have posted quite a few images from my trip to Maui in the fall of 2014. I mentioned that I was there to attend a friend’s wedding. I took the image below of the wedding venue following the wedding ceremony. The sunset was quite nice and I liked the reflection on the water and the grassy area.

The area where this wedding venue is located is near a popular restaurant called Merriman’s and overlooking the Kapalua Bay. Kapalua Bay is, on Maui’s northwestern shore, is one of the most picturesque white-sand beaches on the island. Swimming is good here because a coral reef and long rocky outcrops at both sides of the bay protect the beach from strong currents. Because of a lack of strong waves and currents, the inshore waters are usually clear, so the snorkeling and diving conditions are good, especially at the north end of the beach. The crescent-shaped bay is backed by coconut palms and luxury condos.

This image was taken with my Sony Alpha a7S Digital Camera using my Sony FE 24-70mm f/4 Lens set on 24 mm. The camera was set on Aperture Priority mode with the aperture set at f/9, shutter speed at 1/640th of a second and the ISO set at 100. I took a series of three bracketed photos (-2, 0, +2). Processing for this image was done in Photomatix and Lightroom.
