Bamboo is an amazing plant. It’s not only the largest member of the grass family but it is also the fastest growing plant in the world. Certain species of bamboo can grow 3 feet within a 24-hour period. Bamboos are of notable economic and cultural significance in parts of Asia, being used for building materials, as a food source, and as a versatile raw product. Bamboo has a higher compressive strength than wood, brick, or concrete and a tensile strength that rivals steel. The uses of the plant in daily lives is widespread.
I captured this image while touring the Garden of Eden in the Northeast side of Maui in the fall of 2014. I posted a Wedding Venue image the other day. I was attracted by the colors and shapes and decided to capture this image.
This image was taken with my Sony Alpha a7S using my Sony FE 24-70mm f/4 Lens set on 69 mm. The camera was set on Program mode with the aperture set at f/10, shutter speed at 1/13th of a second and the ISO set at ISO 2500. It was a very cloudy day and it was about to rain so I didn’t have enough time to set the camera so I just let it do it for me.
