150th

It’s hard to believe that I’ve posted 150 daily blog posts in a row. There were days when I was thinking that I was going to run out of subject matter or of decent images but somehow I’ve been able to maintain the daily posts. Thank you to those that subscribe to my daily blog and to those who have ushered words of encouragement, constructive criticism and praise. It’s greatly appreciated. So, I guess I’ll continue posting as long as I have interesting material to post. The image below of the Austin skyline is not only one of my favorite images but it is also the first image I posted on my blog. So, I thought it was deserving a repeat and as the celebratory 150th post image.

The City of Austin is expanding at a tremendous rate. The city’s popularity continues to grow. The Austin population (not metro area) growth rate for 2013-14 was estimated at 3%.  It is also estimated that more than 150 people move to the area each day.  This has had a huge impact on our transportation systems and gridlock is now a major problem. So, if you decide to come to Austin to visit that’s OK, just remember to go back home afterwards. :)

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5D Mark III using my Canon EF24-105mm f/4L Lens set on 45 mm. The camera was set on Aperture priority mode with the aperture set at f/22, shutter speed at 4 seconds and the ISO set at 100. I used the small aperture to extend the exposure time in order to smooth out the water.

  1. Congrats on 150 straight days. That is commitment! I have really enjoyed your daily posts and learned a lot about photography AND the subjects of your photos. Thank you. But…we miss your company on the golf course!

    1. Thanks Duncan! It has been a lot of fun putting these together and I appreicate all the input everyone has given me. It’s helped make the experience a good one. I should be able to play next week. See you then!
