I noticed this bright, full moon one summer night in 2006. I recall the moon was as bright as I had seen in quite some time. So, I ran inside to get my camera, the longest lens I had and my sturdiest tripod. I took some test shots before I arrived at the best setting. The image in this post was the best of the bunch. Shooting the moon is a very difficult task. A photography professor told me once that shooting something that emits light takes special skills and settings. This was true for this very bright moon.
Taken with my Canon EOS 10D using my 100.0-300.0 mm set on 300 mm. The camera was set on manual mode with the aperture set at f/5.6, shutter speed at 1/180 at ISO 100.
